Thank you for stopping by to find out about the Hanen ‘More Than Words’ Programme for children up to age 4 years with challenges in the area of Social Communication for families living in Ireland.
This programme is a detailed speech therapy programme that helps parents learn and use strategies to help their children to communicate more often and in new ways. Goals and strategies are individualised for each child.
The programme consists of some parent group sessions and some individual sessions with you and your child. Goals and activities are individualised for each participating family.
- Each programme runs for 4 months and includes:
- A free Orientation Session after which you decide if you wish to participate in the full programme
- An individual Pre-programme Appointment with you and your child
- An informal ‘Meet and Greet’ session to meet other participating families
- 8 parent-only group sessions lasting 2 hours 45 mins approx.
- and 4 individual child / parent sessions lasting 1 hour to 1.5 hours approx.
- A range of strategies and topics covered
- One topic covered each week with individualised goals for each child
- Receipts provided for claiming with your health insurer if your policy covers SLT
- You will need to get access to a copy of the More Than Word book

Hanen have adapted this programme to be delivered via teletherapy. There is no significant difference in outcomes of the More Than Words programme between in-person and teletherapy. All sessions are via Zoom Pro.
